Hello everyone,
Like the title says, Christmas is coming up quickly (for those of us who celebrate this holiday.) And I can say, I'm going to be glad when the season is over. Haha. As fun as it is looking for gifts for people and getting to check out all the cute little shops in my town for gifts, I just want to be able to relax again and not have the countdown counting down in the back of my head how much time I have left and how many gifts I have left to buy for people!! ^^;
But, I can say that I reduced my stress on that aspect today since I completed/bought gifts for my mom and sister.
Since I'm learning how to sew and all that jazz, my mom requested potholders for Christmas this year. I recently got back my sewing machine from the studio. Unfortunately, when I started the potholders last night, I screwed up while sewing them. Luckily I had a small pair of scissors to fix my mistake since I didn't have my seam ripper with me (because I was stupid and left an entire bag of my stuff at the studio, which I got back today.) Long and behold, my seam ripper wasn't in my bag of stuff I got back, so I need to buy another one. Though I had to switch to my zigzag foot, so I'm glad I did go anyway. Also, while I was out, I went to a little craft shop and bought a cute little Christmas tree ornament to go with the potholders.
So, needless to say on that front. It was an experience. I learned a few things and once I finished the first holder, the second one finished with barely any problems and was sewn together in less then 10 minutes.
I will probably be making a pair for Adam's mom for Christmas~ The funny thing is that the fabric I used for the potholders was a pair of Adam's pajama pants. There was a rip at the seam, on one of the inner legs. So all I had to buy was the batting for the inside and with my Fabricville memebership card, I got a $2 discount on the material. So I paid less then $4 for about 2 arms length for the batting. So a cheap little gift.
I got my sister stuff from the same craft store that I got my mom's little snowman ornament. My sister loves winter, Christmas and all that stuff. Last year I bought her a crystal snowflake, this year I decided to continue with the theme and got her another snowflake. Also, my sister is a workaholic and doesn't take care of herself at all. In that thought, I bought her some hand made/crafted lavender and lemon bath salts.
And that's all the family gifts I've gotten at the moment. I still have to buy for my dad, grandfather and family friend. But they are easy to buy for since I know what I'm getting them!! :D
I'm not posting any friends gifts because I know some of them read my blog and that would be cheating. Haha.
Hope everything well is going with you.
What do you think of my gifts? Good or bad?
